HOW TO BOOST YOUR METABOLISM
Weight loss is important to your physical fitness and your metabolism has an important role to play. Your breakfast is very important because it acts as a starter of metabolic process. Therefore, you should not skip it. Also, in order to prevent bingeing later in the day, you should take your morning meal.
Your breakfast should include complex carbohydrates like whole grain (granola or oatmeal), along with some protein and fat (low-fat yogurt or milk), will keep your energy levels even and hunger in check.
Eat more often in smaller portions. Develop the habit of eating every three to four hours or at least four times a day. By eating frequently, your blood sugar will be stabilized because when your blood sugar drops too low you will want to eat a lot. By stabilizing your blood sugar, you can control your appetite and keep your metabolic rate high. If you don't eat for many hours, your body will compensate by slowing down to conserve energy and this has a negative effect on your weight loss efforts.
To boost your metabolism, eat protein at every meal. It will help to reduce your appetite because it takes more energy to digest, in effect you will feel full longer than eating carbohydrates alone. Research has shown that eating more protein can help you lose weight without cutting calories. Try these protein diets: turkey on whole meat, humonus and pita;vegetarian chilli, fruits and nuts; or protein snack bars that contain 12 or more grams of protein.
Just consume enough food needed by your body, do not overeat. Cut out some of the extra in your diet like soda, juice, packaged foods or candy. Processed foods tend to be high in fat and calories and low in vitamins, minerals and fiber, so abstain from them as much as possible.
