Federal Lawmaker Gabriel Onyenwife accused of using financial inducement of N120k to each Ward Excos/ delegates and Obtaining Signatures to make delegates vote for him.

Youths Alliance for Credible Election YACE, a coalition of Youths in Oyi/Ayamelum, has published a report attacking Hon Gabriel Onyenwife an APGA aspirant for Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency for the “corruption of the APGA political process, now in full swing.”

The report, published on the various social media handles, alleges that “major payments are now being made to each of the APGA Ward chairmen in Oyi and Ayamelum and signatures obtained in a bid to declare Hon Gabriel Onyenwife a consensus candidate ahead of the party primaries. Fingered in the ongoing political harvest of corruption were, a serving Commissioner for transport in Anambra, and a chief judge from Ayamelum who allegedly were conscripted into the desperate act to save the drowning incumbent federal lawmaker Onyenwife having foreseen imminent rejection at the impending party primaries next week.

"Moreover,” the report claims, “the incumbent lawmaker Onyenwife, is bribing APGA delegates out of the syphoned constituency development funds, making most of the party delegates eager to do his bidding with the bribery funds."

A key stakeholder, who did not want to be named, dismissed the report as the handiwork of Onyenwife's enemies who, he said, hired YACE to launder his image and create an appearance of lack of support for Onyenwife in the party.

The report broke down the number of delegates for the 26 wards in Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency

"There are some three delegates for each ward, with each chairman and other excos/delegates being offered cash payments of up to one hundred and twenty thousand naira (N120,000) for his vote, the total bill runs into millions of naira."

The Group has called for outright disqualification of Hon Gabriel Onyenwife and consequently charged with electoral corruption. They have threatened to take the case up if nothing is done to stop the lawmaker.
