Man, 23, attempts to rape she-goat

The unusual happened recently when a 23-year-old man was caught while attempting to mate with a goat.

The man, whose name was given as Kazeem (surname witheld) was found out by the owner of the goat, Joseph Onuwa, when he heard the cry of the goat.

According to police sources, the owner of the goat, who lived in the same house with Kazeem, had tied the goat to a stump while he was resting in his room at Elere Area, Apata, Oyo State.

Onuwa came out of his room when he heard his goat crying ceaselessly, hoping to nab whoever was attempting to steal it. To his amazement, the goat was no longer where he tied it.

Having looked round the area and not find his goat, Onuwa decided to sit close to where he heard the noise coming from to see whether the person attempting to steal the goat would fall into his trap.

Surprisingly, the suspect emerged from the bathroom of their residence, leading the goat which he held in her tether.

He was reported to have confessed to the goat owner that he attempted having sex with the goat, but could not achieve his aim as the goat proved stubborn and cried endlessly, attracting the attention of the owner.

Kazeem said he did not know what came over him when he saw the goat as he was about going to the bathroom to have his bath.

Blaming the devil for his action, Kazeem asked for the forgiveness of the goat owner.

The owner, who hails from Benue State, said it was an abomination in his culture for such a thing to occur.

He initially requested that the suspect pay for the goat and take custody of her, but later gave him the goat without taking any money.

The incident was reported at Kuola Police post, but was later transferred to Apata Police Division. The suspect was interrogated and later released on bail due to his state of health.

Sunday Tribune gathered that the young man recently had an accident while on a motorcycle, losing a toe, with the injury area already turning gangrenous.

Confirming the story, the Police Public Relations in Oyo State, DSP Olabisi Okuwobi, described the act as bestial, stating that the suspect was granted bail on health grounds, while investigations were still on.
