It’s not easy, to take a decision, for positive changes. What I mean is, supposing you are doing a job you do not like or you are in a place where you are compelled to do what you don’t like. In this kind of situation you definitely need to make changes in your life; most time is not easy in taking such decision to change because we are afraid of the unknown and don’t have courage to leave the comfort zone even, when we are not happy in the situation.

We all know education and knowledge are powerful tools for the success of every woman. An enlightened woman will stand proud anywhere, and will be very helpful to herself and the society at large. Unfortunately in this 21st century we still have many illiterate women and girls due to some factors which I will enumerate below;

They areː poverty, divorce, parental neglect, and peer influence

Poverty ː means unable to provide for his/her daily needs due to some circumstances, example sickness, unemployment, not earning enough funds, or parents with lots of children. We also have poverty mentality which is a poor attitude that stems from deep within with the mentality that you don’t ever have enough. Every words that comes out of your mouth is; I don’t have, I can’t afford this or that; whenever you pronounce these words you are prophesying poverty in your life, a poverty minded person is always talking about his lack of money. When a person is poor, suffering and finding it difficult to make ends meet the tendency for that person especially for a woman is to sell her body or steal if it’s a man.

Divorceː common now in our days, divorce has become the order of the day because in today world, lots of couples have lost moral values and the fear of God. Selfishness abounds, no love is all about what gain you will derive from your partner, and those who suffer the consequences of divorce are the children. Marriage vows are not respected because love was never the base of the marriage instead it was based on material gains and selfishness of course not in all cases, other divorce occurs because of violence, abuse and poverty. Divorce traumatizes the children demoralized them, very devastating particularly when the children are left with their mothers who might, most time not be buoyant financially. In most cases some children start hawking on the street, mature and assume responsibility faster in providing for their parent and sibling needs, with the divorce comes psychology trauma exposed to the street vices and evil, abuse of men, who takes advantage of the hawking child many times leading the child to prostitution particularly if she is given extra money by men to supplement her sales, or the child herself begins to sell her body if the sales money not enough for their needs at home. In some cases some mothers encourage or push their daughter into prostitution because of poverty or ignorance.
