Life is is the state that follows birth, and precedes death. It is the state of being alive and living. It can also be referred to as the Period of time when a person is alive.

This life is is filled with many things, some even call it a ' mystery ' while many sees it as an uncertain phenomenon.

Despite it being uncertain, there are many elements that makes it difficult and may even ruin a man's life.

Below are what I termed the top 5 things that can ruin a man's life (The big Five Ruiners):

1. Smoking :

Smoking in this aspect means the burning of inhalation of tobacco. Smoking has been considered as one of the most deadliest tools that can destroy a man's life. As at 2014 Statistic Cigarettes are smoked by over 1 billion people, which is nearly 20% of the world population. About 800 million of these smokers are men. In 2016 statistics it is estimated that a smoker in Nigeria smokes about 162.5 cigarettes per year.

Smoking of marijuana can also cause brain disorder which may lead to madness or makes one have an unsound mind. Many individuals even go extra miles by selling their properties to smoke hard drug.

Some disease that may be caused by smoking includes: heart and blood vessel failure, liver failure, cancer, effect on fertility and babies, death, etc.
This can ruin a man's life.

2. Alcohol :

Like smoking, alcohol is a fast killer. Once addicted to it, it's nearly impossible to stop taking it. Many, even people that are suppose to be investors and business owners has failed because of their love for alcohol.

Some decease caused by alcohol may include ; brain damage, liver damage, Diuretic effect, etc.
This is capable of ruining a man's.

3. Cultism :

Cultism is a spiritual or religious practice. A secrete cult is an organization of which individuals come together to pledge their fidelity under an oath and have a social bond of commitment and dedication for the good of the organization. They carried out their activities or meetings when people are not aware, especially during the odd hours and far away from residential areas.

Here are some disadvantages of Cultism:
-There is never rest of mind for a cultist.
-it is a total distraction of studies.
-Most cultists are either rusticated and (expelled) from school or even killed at the end.
-They always disappoint their families, especially their parents and sponsors.

At the ultimate end it is always a regret. Many youths have died as a result of Cultism. "SAY NO TO CULTISM".
It is capable of ruining a man's life.

4. Gambling and betting :

The terms gambling and betting used here may mean:

-to play a game in which you can win or lose money or possessions.
-to bet money or other valuable things.
-to risk losing (an amount of money) in a game or bet.
-to risk losing (something valuable or important) in order to do or achieve something.

Betting and gambling here may sports betting, pools, gaming, etc. These have an addiction that goes with it. According to studies, Nigerians spends over 1.8 billion Naira on betting.

Here are some disadvantages of gambling and betting:

-no personal savings and income.
-highly addictive.
-may lead to stealing.
-makes one less creative.
-may lead to loss of massive properties.
-etc.
Gambling and betting is capable of ruining a man's life.

5. Not attending School, or not learning any skill or trade, or vocation :

We all know the consequences of not going to school especially in this 21st century. Notwithstanding, there are those who may also not be opportune to goto school. These set of persons are advised to learn skill(s), trade, or vocation that can enable them earn a living in the near future. Not having any of these characteristics may lead to frustrations that can ruin a man's life.

Note: the term "man" used in this article (e.g. Man's life) refers to both male and female of human race.
