Recently, Skye Bank Plc made the news again but this time is about CBN revoked the operating licence of the institution exactly 27 months after its intervened in the ailing bank, as financial experts and shareholders has been expressed mixed reactions over the decision of the apex Bank

Governor of Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, disclosed this during a press briefing in Lagos on Friday.

According to the Governor of central bank, the decision had been reached following the inability of the owners of the bank to shore up the capital of the distressed bank which had earlier received a N350 billion intervention in July 2016.

Also stress further, the bank requires urgent recapitalization as it can no longer continue to live on borrowed times with indefinite liquidity support from the apex bank.
