This is the height of it all. This man is seen comfortably sitting inside the engine bay of this commercial 1993 Volkswagen Eurovan.
This is totally wrong at all levels.

First of all, he’s impairing the vision of the bus driver; the bonnet is up. That alone has ended putting all the lives of the occupant in danger.
Secondly, does it mean he’s not feeling the heat from the engine bay?

What if the driver should slam the brakes in reaction to an impeding danger? That guy might not live to tell his stories. Even if he does, he won’t remain the same.

That’s highway for crying out load and not a lonely street of Lagos.

OP that vehicle is not moving from the look of things around it.. the bus is probably faulty and for the fact that most of those buses are known for incomplete body part, this particular one may not have burnet hanger.. This guy looks like a mechanic trying to fix the bus and simply using his back as a support for the burnet... I may be wrong tho!!!

My friend didn't you study perspective in arts, so you can't see relative movement between the first and last picture taking the pole as reference...?

Besides if they were working on it wouldn't they rather push the bus off the road.

i've seen this a lot especially with danfo buses.
I think thw throttle cable cut off, the conductor is the one controlling the speed/accelerator from the injector or caburator, while the driver only steers and apply brake.
The fault happened while vehicle was in motion, some of the passengers alighted to wait for another bus while others couldnt afford to as they might be in haste or not having enough fund to board another bus as conductor isnt ready to refund because he believes he can still get them to their destination which is the utmost thing on his mind
