I heard about Mesothelioma cancer recently and I had to make thorough research on it. See my findings. Mesothelioma cancer is a type of cancer which develops from the thin layer of tissue that shields many of the internal organs which is called” Mesothelium”

Mesothelioma Cancer is one special and rare kind of cancer which is rarely heard of but is easily caused by exposure to asbestos.

This is an aggressive kind of cancer that develops in the lining of the human lungs, the heart or abdomen. This rare kind of cancer has no known or popular cure and it has been observed to have very poor prognosis.

According to reports by the center for disease control in the United States, about 300 persons contacts this disease every year in the United States alone.



People who have been exposed to asbestos tends to be of higher risk to this disease, which usually develops between 20 to 50 years after exposure to asbestos.

How Fatal is Mesothelioma?

It has been discovered that Mesothelioma cancer can be very fatal according to the American Thoracic Society, The median survival period is usually about one year after the cancer appears with its signs and symptoms.
Once it spreads to other parts of the body, it becomes a severe case and at that stage, it can not yield to surgery.

Signs and Symptoms of Mesothelioma Cancer:

1) Shortness of breath.
2) Complication in breathing
3) Chest pain and also pain in the abdomen
4) Fatigue
5) Fever or excessive sweating.
6)Excess Loss of weight.

Is it curable?

At the moment, there is no known medical cure for mesothelioma cancer. starting from when a patient is diagnosed of the disease, the patient most likely does not survive more than two years after because the sickness mostly spread silently within the body and by the time it gets detected, it has done major damage to the body system.
