The Global Financial Crisis of 2008 plunged many developed and emerging market countries into economic and financial crisis for years and, in some cases, for a decade.

A decade later as policymakers now wonder whether such a crisis or one similar could occur again, scholars examine the impact and responses to the last crisis with a view to lessons learned.
