Two suspected armed robbers were yesterday disgraced after they were reportedly caught stealing from a shrine in Anambra state.

It was gathered that the notorious thieves who have been terrorising residents of Igboukwu town, were caught at Etitnabo Ezihu village in Igboukwu area of the state, while trying to steal moulded craft representations of gods at a shrine.

The armed robbers in an attempt to escape after being spotted, shot sporadically at people but no one was hurt or caught by the stray bullets.

They were both apprehended and stripped n-ked and beaten mercilessly as the villagers disgraced them before handing them over to the police for prosecution.
