The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Lagos Command, on Monday, handed over to the Edo state task force on Human Trafficking, two survivors who were trafficked to Russia by one Lucky and sexually exploited by a Ghanaian couple, Nana and Cynthia.

The survivors who had escaped from their exploiters in Russia, returned to Nigeria on Saturday, 6th October, 2018, and were promptly handed over to NAPTIP by the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The Commander, NAPTIP- Lagos; Daniel Atokolo, revealed that Nana and Cynthia have been apprehended by Russian Law enforcement Authority, while Lucky is still at large. .
He commended the survivors for their initiative and bravery in reaching out to the Nigerian Embassy in Russia for help.

He also thanked the CEO, Help Services for Nigerians in Russia (an NGO facilitating the safe return of Nigerians from Russia), Kehinde Oluremi Banwo, for their cooperation and contributions to the fight against human trafficking.
