Npower is a social intervention program by president mohamadu buhari. The program is supervised by the office of the vice present professor yemi osibanjo.the sole aim of the program is to reduce the numbers of youths on the streets trough N-agro, N-teach, N- health and N-build program,where 30k stipend is expected to be your reward.
However, 200,000 beneficiaries where employed by the scheme for a period of two years in 2016. This first batch somehow enjoyed the scheme. But the 2017 batch beneficiaries so many procedural steps, from verification to uploading of certificates, to collection of deployment letter, to uploading of deployment letter, verification of deployment letter to enrollment, all these for a period of 12 months.
Out of the 300,000 beneficiaries in the second batch,less than 100,000 where paid their monthly stipends and over 200,000 beneficiaries where left to their fate after three months of deployment.
So many beneficiaries have stopped going to their PPA, while some have reduced the number of their attendance to either once or twice in a month as a result of stipend not paid.
Why is it that nothing is working in this country? I am not a beneficiary but people around are in the scheme.
