Med lab scientist are the ones claiming and impersonating Doctors The one I went to his lab last had sthethoscope on his neck and I was purposely calling him doc, u need to see the joy in him each time I refer to him as doc Dude was rushing to write malaria drug for me for mp test even an idiot know at least 4 different malaria drugs

MLS chased microbiology and biochemistry graduates out of human based labs and made them useless

MBBS is about to do same to MLS by claiming master of all

I've gat no fu‹king comment, Teaching hospitals are glorified mortuary. These medical student use patients for mere practice, imagine a medical student using Google to check your symptoms.

And how's this a problem? Still cannot understand why a lab scientist would feel threatened by this. It is essential that a medical doctor gets the basic training in all service delivery points of the Healthcare system, just as it is important to tie laboratory results to clinical scenarios

Will you see Medical doctors have and run pharmacies in their hospitals.

Most medical doctors who work in government establishments still have their private hospitals, and they divert patients to their hospitals and charge them high.

Some medical doctors teach courses irrelevant to what they studied. How can a medical doctor be employed to teach in zoology department.

In a sane country,
A medical doctor only works with human health.

Medical doctors don't own and operate pharmacies

Medical doctors who are employed at government establishments, do not tun their own private hospitals.

In Nigeria today, Bsc and HND degree dichotomy has been dragged by both politicians, educationist, and the citizenry for years.

If you do not want to scrap HND and replace it with Bachelor in Technology then make HND and BSC to enjoy the same status.

Back to the main topic, MBBS and Medical Laboratory Technology dichotomy.

SMH. For those who are not in the know, doctors also specialise in these areas mentioned. Rather than feel threatened, why not work with them and carve a niche for yourself? Nurses, pharmacists etc understand this and so should you.

it's more than 450 now but it's still not worth the stress.
that said. it's funny how I see my friends on FB who are not med students claim doctors. Didn't know it was this bad. people will be commenting and hailing them 'doc doc' and they reply as same.

Yes o. Doctors workload should be reduced.

I did a test once. When the result came out I discussed it with a church elder of ours who was a doctor at LUTH. He said the result didn't make sense because if I had what it said I had I would not be standing there talking to him. He said a lot of people get false results from labs. He said I should come to LUTH and he would run the test himself. That was done and it was found that the original test was a false positive.
