WEIGHT LOSS FOR NEW MOMS

New moms are prone to weight gain after the rigors of childbirth. There are a lot of changes in the chemistry of the body. To go back to normal weight you had before pregnancy and childbirth, you need to practise a lot of weight loss tips. The body is just recovering and you need to watch what you eat.
There is tendency for increased intake of food as a result of stress undergone during and after the childbirth. There may be increase in the amount of calories taken into the body and if the calories is not burned, it will be converted into fat. However, as a new mum you need to take in necessary nutrients that will enable you to adequately breastfeed the infant. As a new mom you need to know the required nutrients your body needs so as to guard against unwanted weight gain during this period.
You should know the amount of calories you need. You should note that calories that are not burnt through exercises are converted to body which are unhealthy for you. The amount you need is determined by your age and metabolic rate. Your meals should consist of calcium, folate, iron and protein. These are beneficial for you and the infant. In fact, your ability to feed the infant well will be enhanced and at the same time you will be able to continue your weight. If you want to control your weight you should take food that are low on fat and if possible the meals should be free of unhealthy fats. Foods that consist protein and fibers should be taken regularly, free - fat yogurt and deli meats are also good.
As a new mom, you need to feed your child as often as he or she needs food. At the same time you must not overeat because of weight gain. You need to eat often and enough to adequately breastfeed the infant. It is recommended that you eat 3 meals daily beside taking healthy snacks thrice a day. You are to take in a lot of fruits and vegetables noting that the nutrients you take in will be passed to the infant through breastfeeding. This will also bring about weight loss and fitness.
Drinks also play a major in weight loss in new moms. Taking a lot of liquid will help control your weight. I advise you to drink a lot of water. Also, take sugar-free soft drinks in order to cut down or regulate the intake of calories which is the major contributor to body fat.
Remember these points:
• sufficient nutrients should be taken by new moms. You should take adequate amount of calcium, folate, iron and protein
• Your age and metabolism determine the amount of calories you can take. Take note that excess intake of calories without exercise will be converted to body fat
• for weight loss take low - fat or free - fat in order to control your weight and to reduce if already overweight.
• eat often and do not over at, this will allow your metabolism to work regularly and efficiently
• drink water always and abstain from drinking sugary soft drinks
