In 2007,buhari polled 5.5 million votes in the north against 5 million polled by late yaradua from the powerful yaradua family.his brother shehu yaradua was the most popular figure in the north or core north,he had political control of the north between 1977-1995.at every era,the north had a popular political figure starting from usman dan fodio to ahmadu bello to aminu kano and then shehu yaradua who helped to install shagari and abiola.buhari is the most popular northern figure since shehu.even late yaradua agreed that the 2007 polls was massively rigged.
In that 2007 polls,atiku also contested and polled just 2 million votes with most coming from the south west.he didnt win any state and lost even in adamawa to buhari.bafarawa the then governor of sokoto also contested under dpp and polled less than a million votes.both buhari and yaradua beat him in sokoto.



In 2011,buhari contested under a new party called cpc.he defeated anpp the strongest party in the north even in kano where shekarau was a sitting governor by more than a million margin.anpp had sitting governors in zamfara,yobe and borno yet buhari polled more than him in all these states.buhari even polled more than pdp.anpp had less than 50,000 votes in borno and zamfara but managed to get 100,000 in yobe against 350,000 for buhari.
Another northerner ribadu also contested and polled about 2 million votes with over 1.5 million coming from the south.ribadu won no state in the north and buhari got 300,000 in ribadu's adamawa to ribadu's 30,000.


It is instructive to note that only incumbent president obj and gej polled up to 9 million in the north in 2003 and 2011 but still lost to buhari up north.northerners without the power of incumbency have never surpassed the 5 million mark.we can then deduce that buhari will slaughter and decimate any northerner challenging him up north.

It should also be noted that buhari's northern votes since 2007 have been on the increase.in 2007,he got 5.5 million,in 2011,he polled 11 million up north and 12.2 million in 2015.obj and gej highest vote down south was 13 million.therefore buhari as an incumbent wont poll lower than 13 million in the north.


Am no mathematician but i can deduce that atiku wont poll more than 7 million up north.

Now it has been proven that buhari is not their solution, he's a regret to conclude with. Also note North alone cannot make him the president. Maybe Atiku might need just the 5 millions vote in the north to win him. Here in the south no right thinking human that isn't partisan will support Buhari. Atiku is capitalizing on ss/se/nc forcing buhari to capitalize on his strongholds also.we know many are indignant but many also know that atiku is not the answer.not much will change.a lot in the south both in apc and pdp are now wanting power back to the south in 2023 and buhari alone represents that.
