The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kabiru Ibrahim, has paraded six suspected kidnappers and six armed robbers who he said were responsible for many kidnapping cases in the state.

The suspected kidnapers included Bello Garba, alias Commander, Alti Alhajo Chede, Muhammadu Ali, alias Dutse, Garba Maduga, Aliyu Dankwarra and Bello Jakiri.

Parading them in Kebbi on Thursday, the CP noted that the suspects were arrested at their hideouts within the state while in illegal possession of guns and other weapons, adding that their victims were rescued and reunited with their families.

The Police Commissioner also disclosed that five notorious armed robbers who attacked two victims and allegedly snatched a Honda motorcycle valued at N120,000 in Bahagu village in the Bagudo Local Government Area of the state had been arrested.

“On getting the report, the police swung into action and arrested the robbers namely: Buba Mojo, Beluwa Fulani, Aliyu Janyo and Jemu Buba, all of Bagudo local government.

“In a related development, a syndicate that specialises in the stealing of handset was smashed by the police. The suspects, six of them, and their collaborators were arrested in different parts of the state and neighbouring Sokoto State,” Ibrahim said.

He explained that the suspects broke into a shop in Argungu town and stole 58 different handsets valued at N725,000, adding that 21 of the handsets and a motorcycle were recovered from them.
