Two Mumbai policemen were injured during a crackdown on a Nigerian drug peddling racket in the late hours of Wednesday. A joint team of Mumbai Police, Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) worked together in the operation.

One Nigerian man identified as Adama, 28, was arrested while eight others fled by taking advantage of a passing train. An RPF constable and a Mumbai police sub-inspector were injured during the raid.

Constable Salim Gani Shaikh suffered head injuries after being hit with a stick. Around 10 grams of cocaine and 16 grams of mephedrone were seized during the operation. Adama has been booked for attempted murder.
