Tanzanian billionaire Mohammed Dewji, who was kidnapped earlier this month, on Saturday morning announced that he has been released and had returned home safely.

Dewji was released 10 days after he was seized by armed men in the city of Dar Es Salaam.

The businessman, known locally as Mo, thanked Tanzania’s police “and everyone around the world for their prayers”.

“I thank the authorities of Tanzania, including the Police Force for working for my safe return,” he added.
