There is this narrative that "Ojukwu ran away", "Nnamdi Kanu ran away" and therefore both men are cowards. I do not understand. How is presenting your self to your enemies on a platter of gold to be slaughtered an act of bravery? That is more like stupidity if you ask me Ojukwu fought a good fight for 3 years. When he could no longer continue, he escaped. He would later return to a heros welcome by his people and remained the undisputed leader of the Igbo nation until his death when he recieved a state burial. Why would Ojukwu stay back to be used as target practice by Nigerian Soldiers when he had a way to escape? Why would Kanu, who has no weapons, stay in his room to be murdered by the Nigerian Army if he has a way of going to Isreal? Only a fool jumps in front of a bullet. A Soldier who fights and lives, lives to fight another day |
