Rajon Rondo, Chris Paul and Brandon Ingram, have been suspended by the NBA after a punch up during the Los Angeles Lakers' defeat by the Houston Rockets.

The ugly incident took place in the match between LA Lakers and Houston Rockets.
Lakers duo Ingram and Rondo have been banned for four and three games respectively, while Rockets' Paul faces a two-game ban - all without pay.

Paul when asked said Rondon spat on his face which led to the fracas.

An NBA statement said all three had thrown punches.

"Ingram has been suspended for aggressively returning to and escalating the altercation and throwing a punch in the direction of Paul, confronting a game official in a hostile manner, and instigating the overall incident by shoving Rockets guard James Harden," said the statement.

"Rondo has been suspended for instigating a physical altercation with, and spitting and throwing multiple punches at, Paul.
"Paul has been suspended for poking at and making contact with the face of Rondo, and throwing multiple punches at him."

The game was the home debut of three-time NBA champion James and ended with a 124-115 defeat for the Lakers.

Lebron James wades in -

Three-time NBA champion LeBron James had to break up a melee as the Los Angeles Lakers lost on his home debut.

Punches were thrown from both sides as his new team lost 124-115 to the Houston Rockets at Staples Center.

Rockets guard Chris Paul claims Lakers' Rajon Rondo spat in his face, which then led to a fracas.

James, a four-time NBA Most Valuable Player, acted as peacekeeper as Rondo, Paul and Brandon Ingram were all ejected for their part in the brawl.

Ingram committed a foul on the Rockets' James Harden, before Rondo allegedly spat in Paul's face, with punches then thrown.
The altercation occurred with four minutes 13 seconds remaining, when the Lakers were trailing by one point.

The home side lost two players, Rondo and Ingram, while the Rockets had Paul removed from the court.

The three NBA stars will not be fielded by their teams until they have served the match bans.
