What do you people enjoy in stating lies with all confidence sef? The last administration did not scrap the old naira notes rather they released a batch to celebrate Nigeria's golden jubilee. And are you too blind to see that the bad naira notes you see today are from the old batch. Haba!
Too many clowns on Nairaland .
So tell me what happen to these notes we used to have before your hero scraped them ??

Did they disappear all by themselves ?
You clown !

Oga calm down! The notes were released to mark the centenary (1914 - 2014) celebration - 1914 being the year 'Nigeria' was birthed as a whole. You can see the inscription emblazoned clearly on the notes. It does not matter what year it is printed, it would always carry that '1914 -2014' tag.

For the Arabic Ajami that was scrapped in favour of the three major languages, that should be the commonsensical thing to do. Nigeria is not an Arab country, neither are we of any religious leaning. Let us shun religion-inspired emotions.

Ogbeni that’s not the tag I was talking about!
Every single naira note has the year it was printed inscribed on in .
All those notes he posted has 2014 printed on them !
The “1914-2014” is on the other side of the note . Check the again before you quote me !

I no dey attack you I just dey point out some issues wey you raise. Fora should be educative too. You asserted, with so much finality, that the former president did the change in order to take off the Ajami (with the intention of spite). That can not be true. Every where in the world, big occasions like that are always commemorated with redesigned currency notes, banners, postage stamps etc... It is not an unusual practice. Even universities are not left out. If you are vigilant, you would have seen first generation Nigerian universities (ABU, OAU, UI, UNN and UNILAG) redesign the features on their certificates, letters, notes, fliers etc to commemorate their golden jubilee anniversary- they recently clocked 50.

Long and short of it: be careful in how you make assertions, especially on points you do not have 100% information on.

Answer=They got old and your zombie-in-chief refused to print. Currency notes have life Cycle. They are not expected to last forever. As old ones are withdrawn from circulation, new ones are printed and brought into circulation. I know even though I spell it out like ABC you still won't comprehend.

It was your hero that scraped the old design of the N100 notes that is very good and lasts long and then decided to produce substandard notes just because he wanted to remove the Arabic inscription.
Jonathan is the most useless president we ever had in Nigeria .
Even though 2014 was very visible on the notes you posted . You still typed trash that APC government printed new notes bla bla

[quote author=Jothamthompson post=72340774]This is the first time the APC led administration will be printing new One hundred note since assumption of office [/quote

It's been a while since one has seen a neat 100 Naira note. There are always reports of no change in grocery stores I patronise and this has pissed off buyers.

I hope that problem is finally over, I am very much tired of dirty and abused 100 naira notes.

Pls don't keep money under your socks, inside bras, on elastic of undergarments, don't write on money and use it as handkerchief, respect the naira and it may become better.

Some people will do anything to portray this govt as 'ANGELS'. My friend, these are not newly printed Notes but Notes that have PRINTED SINCE 2014 (during GEJ era). Or didn't you see the year of printing BOLDLY WRITTEN 2014? Any newly printed NAIRA NOTES will have the year of printing on it. That is why you could see some have 2008, 2010, 2012, etc. For your info, 2014 is the last time Nigeria (thru Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Corporation -NSPMC) printed the N100 notes. What this govt does is simply to stop the disbursement of new notes and that is why it was short in circulation. Why do you think that you can hardly get these new notes (esp N100) at the Bank but you can easily get it at Oshodi thru those women who exchange it for a token fee? Infact, right now any Bank Manager that needs it will have to use his goodwill to get it from CBN Headqtrs Nationwide. So please, STOP SPREADING LIES, THIS GOVT HAD NOT PRINTED ANY NEW N100 NOTES.

In the running up to the 2019 General Election, this regime has ordered freshly mint notes - quantitative easing in disguise - so they have enough money to throw around to perpetuate their evil regime with the help of gullible electorates.
