The Vice-Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Prof Eno Ibanga, on Tuesday the 23rd of October 2018, presented a Lead paper during the 2nd World Conference on Applied Science and Technology (WOCAST 2018). The ongoing event is organized by the Faculty of Science, University of Uyo and has as its theme “challenges of environmental exploitation and sustainable management”.

Delivering his paper under on the topic "from particles to materials”, Prof. Ibanga took the participants through the particles wave equation to the optical/electrical behaviour of various materials, an area that he aptly described as "thin film of materials". He took time to draw great inspiration from his undergraduate days in the University of Ife and charged the audience to learn and cultivate the habit of defining what they want to study/learn in life, the practical application of that subject and how it can help solve the day-to-day challenges of life....
