They are not even ashamed of mentioned d fact dat they import d refined of sometin we have d raw materials here. Both present n past Nigeria leaders have failed woefully.

A serious minded administration would have done anything possible to get d refineries in order.. I wish Dangote refinery a quick coming into term.

53 Naira on every liter consumed and we consume 45m liters daily. For as long as we use this estimate from unknown data sources and a pricing template for landing costs that is flawed then this scam continues. Question is, if there is a subsidy of 53 Naira, how is it possible for stations to sell at varying prices? Can someone explain to me

This is Smart Corruption in operation.

You can now understand why the refineries are jot allowed to work.
Why Buhari after boasting of how he was going to stop subsidy era on the contrary increased it.

Subsidy regime is the smartest, simplest and most powerful way to loot.

The last adminstration wanted to remove it, but Africans appear to have serious challenges in the mental faculties.

By this, they mean a litre is about N200...

Nigeria will continue in poverty for such a long time.

APC apologists are having nightmare over this subsidy issue. The very subsidy buhar I told the while doesn't exist. Lie Muhammad did his best to dug the question, referring the AIT host to ibe ikachukwa. The extremely stupid kiyamo call the thing premium.

I know you will find a way to justify this scam govt.Diezani is from core Niger Delta, if the country was not amalgamated, she'll still have the oil under her accenstrial land so we can conclude she cannot steal what belong to her... Infact the Nigerian State has been stealing from her people

The NNPC GMD is already a billionaire

That was why Diezani stole a lot more than she can consume till death. Oyel money is not counted

Africans are First Class m.rr.o.n.s
You export crude oil, earn dollar.
Then you convert the dollar to Naira.
Next, you convert the naira back to dollar
Next, you import fuel refined from the crude you just exported...

There is no where else where such is obtainable apart from Africa.

Why?

Africa as a whole should be converted to a poultry farm by the whites

theoldpretender:

Back when Buhari made that comment...that was the time of the subsidy scams...when people were collecting subsidy claim for fuel not imported.

Hence the comment.

Thing is, many of those people who were doing it were doing so because under subsidy they could not earn suitable profits. So, they lied to stay afloat.

Only one way to sortout this problem....remove subsidy, let fuel sell for N200 and above.

YES....people will suffer...but NNPC won't have any justificaiton to continue with the corruption train a la subsidy.

But we Nigerians want low oil price....not knowing we are fuelling the corruption machine.
Lies from the pit of hell

Why is the money paid on subsidy by buhari's govt higher now that fuel sells for 145 than when it was 87 under Jonathan?

Buhari is a scam not the subsidy

AtikuDeman:

Buhari is a scam not the subsidy

Two words. Landing cost of fuel.
(well, actually 4 words).

We import most of the fuel we use.

In 2012, landing cost was 92 naira. Went up to 132 in 2015, hence the increase. It is now 180.

And Dangote refinery opening wont bring prices down. Dangote spent 9bn dollars on his refinery. 6 bn of that is a loan.

That is why subsidy must go. GEJ decision to raise fuel from 65 to 140, later to 97 makes a lot of sense.

If Bubu removes subsidy, prices will go up. And nnpc won't have excuse to spend money on subsidy, thus the corruption there will end.

And fuel prices will eventually fall when competition sets in.
