According to Daniel, the break was needed after five months of "nonstop consultations to all states in Nigeria and a rewarding victory" at PDP's national convention which saw Atiku Abubakar emerge as the party's presidential candidate.

Gbenga Daniel, Director-General of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, has announced that the organisation is embarking on a break to "rest and restrategise".The former Governor of Ogun State was appointed in May 2018 to head the campaign organisation.

According to Daniel, the break was needed after five months of "nonstop consultations to all states in Nigeria and a rewarding victory" at PDP's national convention in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital which saw Atiku Abubakar emerge as the party's presidential candidate".

He disclosed the organisation's next move via a tweet that read: "After 5 months of a very tasking [sic], nonstop consultations to all states in Nigeria, and a rewarding victory at the convention [of] our party PDP, the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organization needs a short break to rest and strategize. We are energised to take the sprint towards February."
