A video going viral on YouTube today shows a University Student speaking vehemently against the increment of school fees in his institution -Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.

Investigations made by Campus Reporters shows that the Student -Comr. Nwokocha, Noble Obusoh would be in Level 300 by resumption of the school this November, is the Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee, Rivers State Axis.

According to the video going round, the Vice Chancellor through the Students Union Government President - Comr. Elvis Gogo said that one of the major reason for the increment of school fees is to pay the University Academic and Non-Academic Staff's Salaries due to the State's Government led by Barr. Nyesom Wike inability to pay the salaries completely.

The NANS Leader Condemns in strong terms the arbitrary increment of school fees which he said was also done barely 24 months ago. He went further to say that if the statement of the Vice-Chancellor is any thing to go by, then the 2018 budget as approved by the Rivers State University is tantamount to fraud. His reason is because the allocation earmarked for the Rivers State University Staff Payment in the 2018 budget is over 4billion Naira. So it is either the State Government has not been doing the needful or the management is lying against the State Government.

One of the University's Professor who pleaded anonymity concurred that since his elevation months ago, his promotion has not been effected.
Recall, that since the inception of this present Government no busary has been paid to Rivers State Students.

This might be a bad omen for the Governor as this is an electioneering period and anything like protest against the government will be a cheap political point for the Opposition party.
