Eight years ago, most Nigerians would have thought that the birth of a new democracy in the nation was the beginning of paradise on earth. Unfortunately, they were wrong.
Ordinarily, eight years should be enough time to solve any societal problem no matter how intractable. And if the problem were at the heat of the nation, like electricity, a committed government should have been expected to tackle it with all seriousness with a view to fixing it under record time. Unfortunately, that is not the case with Nigeria because presently, we are experiencing one of the worst power shortages ever.
In 1999 the Obsanjo administration under the distinguished leadership of the PDP promised the nation uninterrupted power supply if voted into office. Are they now telling us that eight years isn’t enough for them to fulfill their promise?
Must we go on living like this, consuming 70% of our income on diesel and PHCN’s crazy bills. angry
Is this what democracy is all about? angry

It’s also sad knowing that a lot of average Nigerians depend on small-scale businesses to survive. But unfortunately these small-scale businesses are nowhere to be found due to PHCN incompetence. Owners however recalled that in the cause of running such businesses, you might end up being a debtor as you stand 0% chance of gaining your capital.
Other bigger companies spend close to N1.5million monthly on diesel, which means they’ll have to constantly over work their staff’s o they won’t run out of business.
Despite all these, the so-called leaders are not bothered, the PDP is not concerned, what they are concerned is that they maintain their constant leadership in the country.
It also appears that the Obsanjo administration does not truly possess the magic wand to turn around the PHCN, which has become something of a casino.
What Nigeria needs now is someone who has a good mind for the people, who knows the problem of the common man, and also has solution to those problems.
We’re tired of PDP they have failed Nigeria.
We need a change!!

@topic,

And this same people were going to force an evil third term agenda on us. By the time that would have ended, the only source of power in Naija will be nothing but candles.

There is "peace" in Gombe secondary schools.
There is peace even though we need lanterns to see in the dark. All we need is peace even though we have no drugs in our hospitals, governorsr fly to Germanyy to treat cattarrh and others are jailed for money laundering.
Peace is all we need when we have no jobs, 70% of the population is in the deathly grip of poverty and students are at home no thanks to a peaceful strike.
We need peace to watch our leaders plunder the treasury, we need peace to travel on our death traps called roads, we need peace when armed robbers stalk the streets and policemen hide under the banner of "oga no fuel, no paper, no bullets".

@Davidylan

We all have to make sacrifice let no man die in vain for the unity of our country. Let us be patriotic and be optimistic. We all have to make sacrifice and Honor those that did so.

look at the History of the USA it was no where what we have now if you need to remember that America did not give Blacks the chance to vote, THE USA had a scared past but what put them past this is Leadership. We have a good leadership there are signs I have seen in Obj I cant explain it to you.

THERE ARE CORRUPT PEOPLE THAT ARE READY TO TAKE LIFE TO DEFEND THE MONEY THEY HAVE SPENT.

SOME DON'T BELIEVE IN OUR DEMOCRACY BECAUSE THEY WANT TO STEAL. THERE IS NO PERFECT DEMOCRACY BUT WE SHALL MATURE AND THE WORLD WILL WONDER.
