"We Will Cut You To Size" - APC Stakeholders Warn Enoidem, Umanah by NewAkwaIbom: 3:38pm On Oct 29, 2018
The leaders and stakeholders of APC in Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency have warned PDP National Legal Adviser, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem and PDP flag-bearer for Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency, Elder Aniekan Umanah to desist from organizing a protest rally against the reelection of their candidate, Hon. Emmanuel Ekon to the House of Representatives in the 2019 election.

In a communique signed and made available to Akwa Ibom INFO, the Leaders and Stakeholders of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency APC challenged Barrister Enoidem and his co-travelers to tell the people he is soliciting votes from what Elder Aniekan Umanah was able to achieve as Commissioner for nine years and what he himself did for the people when he held sway for sixteen years and not this pedestrian idea he is mounting.

Full Communique

ENOUGH OF BARRISTER EMMANUEL ENOIDEM AND ELDER ANIEKAN UMANAH’S ANTICS IN ABAK/ETIM EKPO/IKA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

The attention of the teeming supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency comprising the youths, women and elders have been drawn to the clandestine moves by the National Legal Adviser of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Barrister Emmanuel Enoidem in connivance with their House of Representatives flag bearer, Elder Aniekan Umanah to organize a protest rally against the reelection of our candidate, Hon. Emmanuel Ekon to the House of Representatives in the 2019 election.

For three years, we have watched what these two desperate and power drunk politicians have done to the people of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency when they had the opportunity to serve as Commissioners between 1999 and 2017. We also witnessed the level of frustration they meted out to Hon. Ekon who made spirited efforts to bring development and empowerment to the people of the three local government areas under his jurisdiction.

It did not bother us because we viewed their action then as the internal affairs of their party. Now it is a different ball game because apart from Hon. Ekon being a member of the APC which he joined on August 8 2018, he is our standard bearer for the House of Representatives election.

In a well-organized clime, the likes of Enoidem and Umanah would not have the moral courage to say anything in public not to talk of organizing a meeting on behalf of the people of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency.

The political parties have made their choices and APC has found Hon. Ekon fit to fly their flag in the forthcoming election. We are focused on winning that election because we have a marketable product in Hon. Ekon because of his record of performance since he was voted in 2011. Can Barrister Enoidem say the same about his anointed candidate, Elder Aniekan Umanah whom he foisted on the PDP to the detriment of more popular and acceptable aspirants? Why is Barrister Enoidem still afraid to an extent of planning to bring youths from neighboring local governments to protest against third term?

We can only infer that Elder Aniekan Umanah has already been rejected by the people of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency even before the campaign starts. The social media is awash with substantiated evidence that the women and youths of Qua Iboe Church in Abak where Elder Aniekan Umanah worships objected to a request by the Presiding Elder to pray for his success in the election on grounds that he refused to honor the financial pledge he made to them during their launching. Does such deceitful character befit somebody who should be given the mandate to represent the collective interest of the good people of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency in the National Assembly? If an Elder can do this in his Church, what will he NOT DO if he is given an opportunity to serve in a higher capacity?

We challenge Barrister Enoidem and his co-travelers to tell the people he is soliciting votes from what Elder Aniekan Umanah was able to achieve as Commissioner for nine years and what he himself did for the people when he held sway for sixteen years and not this pedestrian idea he is mounting.

Barrister Enoidem and Elder Umanah have used the sweat of innocent people to climb the ladder in PDP without commensurate benefit to them. APC in Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency is not interested in sentiments and semantics. We are focused on issues and Barrister Enoidem should not deploy the violent tactics he is used to this time around. The campaign and election would be issue based.

We want to advise the youths of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency not to succumb to the pressure from politicians who have lost relevance and are looking for a springboard to relaunch their political career. We have had enough of their lies and deceit. This time around, we are prepared to desist all moves they would make to return us to the dark days. Hon. Emmanuel Ekon represents the future and he has proven to the people that he is willing and capable of restoring hope to the Federal Constituency. Barrister Enoidem and Elder Aniekan Umanah should concentrate on what is happening in their party. If they do the contrary, we would cut them to size.
