Last week, Campus Reporters reported a case of school fees increment in the Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt.

Recall, The institution which is state owned, increased it's fees twice in 3 years. And the increment has been over 90% in these 2 increment.
That last week, a NANS leader in the Campus and State spoke vehemently against the hike. And informed that if the fees are eventually increased, the Students would protest this act this week.

Information reaching us this morning is, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) initially has put all modalities to protest in the early hours of yesterday Tuesday, 30th October, 2018.
Comr. Nwokocha Noble Obusoh - The Chairman, NANS Rivers State who was supposed to lead the protest action informed students in the early hours of yesterday that the protest was suspended due to the intervention of the Commissioner of Police who waded in on Monday Night.

Yesterday, the Leadership of NANS met with the command and after strong arguements were made by the Students, the Commissioner of Police - CP Zaki Ahmed- Instructed that a letter be sent to the University Management inviting them for a meeting.

In his words, "The National Association of Nigerian Students is calling on all students to remain calm and not do anything rash, because for the efforts made, definitely, Victory is Sure. Also, Students are advised not to start paying fees until all negotiations are done. I want to use this medium to thank all the Leaders that have been given advice and support".
