You might have often heard that readers are leaders. That statement holds true. In reading, our minds are open up to ideas, concepts and insights that puts us over in life.

The level you haven't attained is the knowledge you haven't gained.

Mark Twain said "Those who do not read have no advantage over those who have cannot read."

I remember growing up and hearing the statement that a white man said. "If you want to keep a secret from an African, put it inside a book". While the statement isn't true in its entirety, it goes length show the poor reading culture of our people.

A survey was carried out on 1200 wealthiest people in the world and the COMMON DENOMINATOR was that they were all given to LEARNING.

A great man once said, "If you stop learning, you start dying."

Reading helps us gain knowledge, experiential most times. By reading the books of great men, we see with their eyes and gain wisdom. We learn to avoid them mistakes they made and are closer to success than the man who doesn't read.

Where you are today is a product of the information you've been fed.

Another great man said, "Where you are today is a product of the BOOKS you have read, the people you have met and the meetings you have attended."

Many books are not necessarily new ideas. What they do is to give you a clearer picture of what you have on your inside.

Carlos Zafon said," Books are only mirrors. You only see in them what you already have inside of you. "

Many people you see today who command so much wisdom and intelligence are probably so because they're given to studies. See what Ralph Waldo Emerson had to say about this

“If we encounter a man of rare intellect, we should ask him what books he reads."

Finally,

“A book worth reading is worth buying.” -John Ruskin
