Ask Buhari. He holds the undisputed record of putting Nigeria into recession on two occasion.Meanwhile all these supposed agencies of govt.have been infected with the APC bug under this regime hence useless & contributing to the system rot. undecided

We are all guilty of what brought Nigeria here. PDP, APC are both guilty but PDP began the nose dive of our economy which was dumped on Buhari.

We need to be realistic when speaking regardless of party affiliation. The issue of the economy and its current state is in no way the fault of the Buhari. We all know it but choose to look away from this truth.

The only reason I mentioned APC above is because some of them who gave us this situation in Nigeria were once in PDP in the years we messed up our chances and brought this country to ruin.

Focus on other areas if you wish to indict Buhari. The economy is not one of those areas

It is their usual stock-in-trade right from the word go and the way they intend to grow Nigeria while taunting the poor citizenry with photo ops of their latest acquisitons.

The minimum wage earners can go to hell and continue sai babaring plus atikulating for all they care.

Below is my submission on one thread yesterday...
Most times when I come online and see the "sai babarisms and atikulatings" from the so-called youths and assumed leaders of tomorrow I just shake my head in repulse and I'm forced to believe there won't be any redemption from the present quagmire any time soon.

We go clapping for and insulting each other over people who care less about the present conditions because it obviously favours them and their wards, and have precariously positioned their offspring to take over from where ever they'd be hanging their boots from.

Perhaps Y'all will continue sai babaing and atikulating their children as well after their fathers have successfully ruled over your fathers and eaten into your time and future before passing on the baton to their wards to finish off that which they had started.

Whoever thinks these our present crop of leaders will visit the constitution as it is presently for a tweak must be joking. This is so because it was deliberately arranged that way to favour them at the corridors of power.

The youths of this country have got to rise up and quit being lame-sitting ducks and internet warriors. Let's come together, collapse whatever mushroom youth associations all around the country into one firm and solid movement that can give these guys a good run for their money and make them realise we are truly prepared to take over governance. When they say the youths aren't prepared, it isn't just a mere say, it is indeed a fact judging from how so beat-down and docile they have rendered us technically and otherwise. They know what they have done to us and our morale but its time we took the bull by the horns.

In my opinion, we should let them have this election seeing how we aren't in the mix by any stretch, but we can begin to prepare from now and the next four years to take over with no negotiations.

The next four years is enough for us to get under a solid youth body comprising of youths from every region, religion, social class, etc and set up a mock constitution review panel. This panel should study the present constitution to strip it of every and all the rubbish contents imputed to benefit and protect the enemies of the state. Every clause relating to immunity, security votes etc should be expunged from the constitution. The humongous allowances for NA members would be cut down to the barest and true separation of powers entrenched in our new constitution. The judiciary would be looked into as well to correct all the anomalies that have rendered our justice system to favour the highest bidders and find ways to expedite dispatch of judicial matters.

Our military and paramilitary would be looked into as well to position them for their profession and not a willing tool for the political class to suppress and oppress the opposition.

Strip the rubbish called constitution a draft a new one we shall all agree on to control whatever is left of our future with and have a country to bequeath to our children while they continue improving on the constitution to suit their times as generations proceed.

If we can do this, trust me we would have an idea on the direction we intend going with a new Nigeria and also have a campaign manifesto for the next election. You can imagine being able to galvanize a good number of youths from now until the next election in four years time who can contribute a minimum of 1000# to a potential war chest to match these thieves on the campaign trail.

We can do it if we are willing we just need to quit with allowing ourselves get distracted by the same old wines in fresh bottles. It's the same old same.

The matter dey tire person abeg.

But on a serious note, why should one Senator alone bag over N13m as monthly salary in a country where over 88,000,000 people are leaving below poverty line!
heard thier basic salary according to shehu sani is N750,000 and that 13million is constiyuency allowance..
so if your constituency senator is not showing the effect of that N13million.
you just need to do the needfull come 2019 and also try to enlighten those around you on the happenings..

Bross u have a point, but the issue is dat this is democracy and there should be no interference in both arm of the govt , the president has little power on this , the problem of this country is d the NASS and the Judiciary , a system where the president take home 2m and a senator get almost 25m , a system where we have over 108 senators and 380 reps member working only for two weeks and going on holiday for two months!
very annoying!
Who is deceiving you guys self.... President take home is 200% of whatever the Senate is getting

About N3.5 billion was misappropriated in 2016 by the management of the National Assembly, an audit report has revealed.
The monies were siphoned through various schemes such as failure to retire advances, financial documentation irregularities, excess payment for goods, controversial purchases and diversion of funds.
These findings were contained in the 2016 annual audit report released by the Auditor General of the Federation.
The report, released this year, noted how the agency failed to provide receipts, vouchers or contract documents for many transactions made in 2016.
As Senate President, Mr Saraki heads the overall institution of the National Assembly.
Some other key officials in the National Assembly with direct or oversight management responsibilities include the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; Clerk of the National Assembly, Mohammed Omolori; Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission, Adamu Fika; and Director General of the National Institute of Legislative Studies, Ladi Hamalai. Some of them were directly indicted n the report.
INDICTMENT
During the audit of the accounting records maintained at the National Assembly and its agencies, at the management section, under the General Services, it was revealed that capital account payment vouchers for amounts totalling N417 million (N417,312,538.79), raised for settlement of some contractors, were without vital supporting documents, ”a financial decision that depicts violation of Financial Regulation which provides that all vouchers shall contain full particulars of each service as to enable them to be checked without reference to any other document and will invariably be supported by relevant documents.”
“The Clerk to the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani Omolori, should produce the supporting documents to the payment vouchers or recover the amount in question from the contractors,” the auditor ruled.
Also, during the audit of staff salary accounts, 37 payment vouchers with amounts to N67 million (N66,713,355) were observed to have been paid between January and June, 2016 for items not related to personnel cost.
The payees in the cashbook also did not correspond with those in the bank statement. This irregularity is a violation of Financial Regulation which states that “Expenditure shall strictly be classified in accordance with the estimates and votes must be applied only to the purpose for which the money is provided. Expenditure incorrectly charged to a vote shall be disallowed.”
“The sum of N66,713,355.08 being irregular expenditure should be recovered from the officer who approved the payments from the personnel vote,” the auditor instructed.
Review Of Expenditure
During the review of documents of capital expenditure vote by the auditor, it was discovered that payments totalling N116 million (N116,162,522.60) were made between April and June, 2016 to some contractors for various jobs carried out, without raising payment vouchers.
This contravenes the provisions of Financial Regulation which state that under no circumstance shall money be paid for services, for which a voucher has not been raised.
”The Clerk to the National Assembly should produce the payment vouchers for examination,” the report added.
Also, a total sum of N57 million deducted from various contract payments in respect of Withholding Tax and Value Added Tax was without evidence of remittance to the tax authorities.
The clerk was asked to produce the acknowledgement receipts from the Federal Inland Revenue Service for verification. He was stated, in the report ”to have ignored the auditor on these issues.”
‘Watery Documentation’
The general services account of the National Assembly was depleted by about N751 million on account of “watery financial documentations” and failure of staff to retire advances according to the report.
In the documents, it was revealed that N625 million was granted to the Constitution Review Committee through four payment vouchers between March and June 2016. These were not supported with relevant documents and details of the expenses.READ MORE

The question should be why should a senator be collecting the collective salary of over 400 people at minimum wage level keeping in mind that they've refused to pay the 30k.

What do they do. All I hear is a bill for this a hill for that but no impact.

We should scrap one of the legislative houses or make the senate 1 per state and house of reps 3 per state. Salary at par with a permanent secretary in the state or FCT.

They are a waste of money and time.

Get rid of the senate. It is not serving any useful purpose to the Nigerians. And it has caused us a of money and delays in passing the budget due to padding
A parliament consisting of a representative from all the constituency should be enough to check the executive
