The wife of Ondo State Governor, Arabirin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu yesterday led other members of Forum for Wives of Ondo State Officials (FOWOSO) to Ilaje LGA where empowerment kits such as grinding machines, sewing machines & laptops among others were distributed to women & youths of the area.

In her address, Mrs. Akeredolu explained the reason for initiating FOWOSO while stressing the need for Ondo State women to employ the various skills gained at the empowerment exercise to contribute, substantially, towards the socio-economic development of their immediate families and different communities.

Mrs. Akeredolu who restated that FOWOSO, as a group is poised to empowering women to become economically viable, also observed that in addition to learning life-changing skills, beneficiaries of the outreach also receive start-up kits that would enable them begin to earn immediately after the training exercise.

One of the beneficiaries, Ms Victoria Edema thanked the First Lady for the initiative of empowering women across the state as she noted that the empowerment programme came at the right time when many women are jobless.

She prayed that God will strengthen her to do more, saying: “Before now, I have nothing doing, but now, I have been taught how to make shoes and I am starting immediately. Thanks to Mrs Akeredolu.”

Indeed, The Governor of Ondo State and his Wife are working hard to touch the lives of women and youth in every community.
