The media has been buzzing with the release of numerous videos showing the Kano state governor, Ganduje, allegedly receiving bribe from a contractor.

The Buhari administration has been accused of selective fight against corruption, whilst shielding members of the APC caught in corrupt practices.

The Senate had refused to confirm Ibrahim Magu as EFCC chairman following a report from the DSS which passed the verdict:

"In the light of the foregoing, Magu has failed the integrity test and will eventually constitute a liability to the anti-corruption drive of the present administration.”

The partisanship of Mr Magu in the fight against corruption is not in doubt. He was once caught on national TV (Channels) wearing a lapel with the inscription "I stand with Buhari!". This is unfortunate coming from the head of a supposedly independent anti-corruption body.

EFCC under Magu was quite vocal and cheeky in their harassment of Ayodele Fayose, to the extent of sending out a tweet that read:

"The parri is over; The cloak of immunity torn apart, and the staff broken. #Ekiti Integrated Poultry Project/Biological Concepts Limited N1.3bn fraud case file dusted of the shelves. See you soon”.

It took public outcry for the EFCC to delete the tweet, but no apology was tendered.

Not done, they also engaged Fayose in a dance of shame, writing all the security arms and putting Fayose on a watch list, which they conveniently leaked to the media. This is despite the fact that Fayose was a sitting governor who had immunity!

Since the scandal of 'Gandudollar' broke, the same Magu led EFCC has gone completely deaf, dumb, and blind, just as it did refusing to accept petition against Oshiomhole until compelled by the courts!

Despite Babachir being reluctantly sacked by the Buhari government, EFCC are yet to drag him to court to account for the misappropriated IDP funds.

Say what you may, it is clear to all who Magu is "standing" with in his pseudo fight against corruption.

There is no prophet needed in predicting that he would be one of the first persons to lose their job should Buhari fail to secure a second term.

With hindsight, I think it was a right call by the Senate not to have confirmed him as the EFCC boss.
