The new ZTE Nubia X smartphone has a secondary back screen which can completely disappear.

The second color display at the back serves as a view finder and lets you take selfies with the rear cameras.

China’s smartphone maker ZTE on October 30th hosted a launch event for its new flagship ‘beast’ called the Nubia X.

It spots a second display at the back, displacing the entire need for a notch with the front-facing camera so you can simply flip the phone around to take your selfie with the main dual camera.

The most impressive and unique feature of the Nubia X’s secondary display is the way it totally disappears when not in use, blending into the colorful glass back of the phone.

The idea is that also make the rear display a wallpaper with black background (a clock, styled text or portrait of a loved one will be nice) so you can’t tell where the rear display stops and starts. You’d have to watch your battery level though.

The rear display is also a touchscreen, so in addition to just doing regular phone stuff on the back, you can turn it into extra buttons for games.

While the phone’s biggest unique selling point) is its dual displays, the rest of its specifications are also mind-boggling and really impressive.

There are also two fingerprint readers. Side-mounted fingerprint readers dwell on the left and right sides of the phone, presumably so you can authenticate with the same motion regardless of whether you are looking at the front or back of the phone.

The Nubia X was initially destined for China, so there’s no Google playstore availabilty for now. The base model starts at CNY 3,299 ($473 / £367) and the high-end 8GB/128GB model goes for CNY 4,199 ($602).
