Ayuba Wabba, President of the Nigeria Labor Congress, spoke to the press at the end of the Tripartite Commission's meeting on the new national minimum wage Tuesday in Abuja

The union leaders, who announced the cancellation of a national strike scheduled for Tuesday, agreed to a new national minimum wage after negotiations with a tripartite committee set up by the federal government.

The agreed figure will be kept secret until Tuesday at 3 pm, when it will be revealed in a report to be presented to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ayuba Wabba, president of the Nigeria Labor Congress, spoke to the press at the end of the tripartite committee meeting on the new national minimum wage on Tuesday in Abuja.
Wabba said the national minimum wage bargaining committee had completed its mandate and that an agreement had been reached and documents had also been signed.

He said: "The report will be submitted to the President by today and, therefore, having reached this position, the organized labor movement has also decided to suspend the proposed strike.

"Therefore, we thought that this should be communicated appropriately without also disclosing this information as a mutual agreement was reached."
Amma People, chair of the tripartite committee, also indicated that the committee's mission was over.

People said, "We will present our report to the President today at 4:15 pm and he will reveal the figure we have recommended."
Boss Mustapha, Secretary of the Federation Government, congratulated the members of the committee for their time and commitment to the process of recommending the new minimum wage.
Mustapha said, "I am confident that the government will quickly review the report when it is submitted tomorrow to the President.

"And very soon, processes will be put in place to really update your recommendations so that the status of our active population is improved and that they receive an appropriate and proportionate payment for the services they offer to our country and to different sectors of society. our economy. "

The organized labor movement had threatened to start a national strike on 6 November following the government's rejection of a minimum wage of 30,000 naira.
The government offered 24,000 N, workers also rejected.
