The Presidency has frowned at the misinterpretation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s remarks when he received the report of the Tripartite Committee on the Review of National Minimum Wage from the committee’s chairman, Ama Pepple, on Tuesday.

What's even the big deal in the minimum wage saga? During the last increment in the previous administration, the purchasing power of the N18,000 minimum wage is about $100 @ N180 to a dollar, in today's N30,000 minimum wage they are shouting and going in circle about, its just about $85 which translate to about N15,000 compared to the last minimum wage purchasing power..Are the Nigerian workers going forward or backward? Folk really need to be enlightened before they think its uhuru.!!

For an increment in minimum wage to beat the last we should be looking at about $160 which is a paltry 60% increment and which would translate to today's N56,000..!!

The Labour themselve either don't know their left from their right or they are simply an accomplice in deceiving, cheating and lieing to the Nigerian workers...!!

Peace..!!

Full Report

It is not the duty of the president only to endorse a new national minimum wage. The process involves the Federal Executive Council (FEC), the National Economic Council (NEC) and the National Assembly.
