I'm getting blurry vision, I'm suspecting is because I press phone a lot due to my job is based online.. (I'm not sure though)
Sometimes I go outside I don't see people face clearly until they come very close.

thank Dr. my is can't read tiny lettering like before, when I come in vision seem blur for a couple of seconds and at times I feel itch on eye.

Hello, I understand what youre going through and i know it can be really disturbing, but dont worry its not so big a problem.

This condition is known as computer vision syndrome.

You know? In other for the eyes to maintain focus at an abject very close to you, it needs to converge (come close together-toward your nose). and if you remain that way for a while, the eyes adapt to the focus at that distance. So when you take a break and try to see at far again you would notice the blur for a while until it clears out, or rather you adapt for that distance again..

So in other to avoid this, you need to observe a 20-20 rule when you use your phone or a computer. This means that as you stare at your phone, after a while just shift your gaze toward something far away for a while, then back to your phone. This would help reduce the strain you experience. Thank you

“Itchy eyes” is a sign that something is going on in your eyes, and its been persistent.. so it’s probably an allergic response to something you have been exposed to. So there are different medications to sooth your problem and you might have to keep using it for as long as you’re exposed to that which youre allergic to. So i advise you re-visit an eye care specialist close to you for closer examination and management. Thank you

From about 45years and above, alot of people experience something called “presbyopia” this means that the eyes are loosing their ability to adapt to focusing properly at near. This is completely natural so you dont need to worry.. you just need glasses to help you see properly at near. Then for the itching, have you used any drugs before? And how long has it been itching you?

Yes it should, but if it persists- it then means that you have an underlying error of refraction so, you would have to visit an eye clinic to be refracted and given glasses for a clearer view

please doctor I have a problem with my eye sight. when watching tv, I don't see the faces of the actors unless I go really close. and if I don't I close my eyes a bit before I can see well. even while reading newsline on tv. pls respond. thanks

Hi, I get the picture you have tried to paint here; and its very likely something called a “refractive error”. You would have to visit an eye care specialist for refraction so that an appropriate lens power can be sorted out for you, to enable you see those prints clearer.. for more information on refractive errors, you can visit my blog www.asktimon.com

I have used different medications and no relief, even d last specialist I met at a general hospital said I had to use glasses if d treatment he gives to me does not work and I am not comfortable with the use of glasses

For as long as a month, the itching would have subsided, so deciding not to wear the glasses anymore wouldn't favour you much because you would realize that your vision is evidently better with the glasses on than off. So if you insist on taking the glasses off, after a while the eyes would cry for help again. So try to keep the glasses on

Is the use of glasses just to correct eyes sight issues which u can later stop using it.?
or is it meant to be put on as as u live.

Think of prescription glasses as a medium to enable you see the world better than you had.

I don't like to use the word “correct” because that would mean that the glasses are a permanent cure. The glasses help to compensate for the error thats causing you not to see clearly.

“Cure” (neutrality) is mostly achieved amongst children of 8yrs or less.. but individuals who are older are less likely to attain neutrality, so you would have to stick to the glasses for better vision

I have these frustrating feelings of something pinching me in my eye. I visited an eye clinic where I was given: Diclofenac eyedrop, with Mastguard eyedrop, and Benacycline eye oilment to apply to the eye. Have been on these medications for 3days now, and no changes, please help.

Hello I have been suffering this eye problem for over 22yrs now, the thing comes like season especially during dry season ,my eyes itching me ,red eyes and something like shadow covering my eyes ,

Hello doctor please my own situation is that when I expose my eyes to light ( sunlight, electric bulb and reflections) my eyes becomes watery and turns red, also sometimes I always feel as if my eyelash is pinching my eyeballs. Or as if there are foreign objects in my eyes please kind help thanks

For the dry season itching & red eyes, its either an allergic conjunctivitis or a condition called dry eye syndrome. These conditions appear prominently in dry weather conditions with the sign and symptoms you have provided so you would have to see an eye doctor near you to be able to acertain which one it is before treatment can commence.

As for the shadow that blocks your vision, you would have to see an eye doctor in person so that they can use an equipment to look into your eye to see if there are any irregularities

Okay I understand what youre going through i have seen alot of cases like this.. all you have to do is to get an anti reflective transition lens to protect your eyes from direct exposure to the light. What you have is most likely "photophobia"

Then as for the lashes, the condition is called trichiasis. Some of Your lashes are misdirected so they would cause a huge disturbance. You need to visit an optometrist near you, so that measures would be taken to remove the misdirected lashes, and provide you with comfort
