Unemployment is a very dangerous cancer when it takes you by surprise. Most graduates fail to recognize that their training in the university has given them the needed skills to survive the hurdles of the Nigerian labor markets. A group of young Nigerian graduates are changing the job situation in Nigeria by working through their Facebook accounts as freelance marketers.
They created OBS-Naija a facebook page from which they contact producers and sellers to seek marketing contracts. Their strength lies in the problem of trust which they solved by using their own facebook accounts and sharing products and services for sale. They currently market laptops, landlines, research proposals, business plan writers and many other products, and they do delivery for buyers in Abuja, Lagos and Ibadan. Each product carries certain commission which when sold is shared among members by month end.
Youths can build creative solutions when they work together.
Skills such as:
(Social media management, communication skills, graphic abilities, content creation skills and marketing skills) are developed in this young graduates.
