Governor Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State has finally  revealed what will make governors to pay the new minimum wage.

According to him, review of the revenue sharing formula would enable states pay the new minimum wage.

Umahi spoke on Friday in Abakaliki at the opening of the 2018/19 legal year of the Ebonyi judiciary.

The governor likened the allocation accrued to states from the federation account as a ‘sign wave’ which made permutations difficult because it was not constant.

“The balance of justice is that the country’s leaders should dialogue and allocate percentages to its various sectors which include workers’ salaries, education, infrastructure, judiciary, legislature among others.

“The burning issue currently in Nigeria is workers’ welfare which every right thinking person will support and I have said severally that N30, 000 minimum wage is not even enough for workers.

“It is my desire to improve on workers’ welfare but something must be done at the centre so that the states can breathe.

“To clamp the nut on the petroleum subsidy episode, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) should be more transparent and accountable to the federation account,” he said.

He noted that effective management of the nation’s resources would enable the government adequately took care of workers’ welfare and the three tiers of government.

Umahi is telling you guys the Raw truth but una no want hear.

Every wiseguy knows that they will be inflation once that money is announced. you Landlord will increase money, market woman will increase money, etc because them want to chop from the increase too.

now if you make 30k the new minimum wage, how do you expect private individuals who own businesses to pay their workers 30k how much do they make to pay that amount because they also need to comply. Jobs will be lost. private individuals are the biggest employer of Labour.

All una own na to the make noise about senators take home pay and how they steal money forgetting that politicians are few compared to federal and state civil servant.

The 18K that is the norm now, how many state have been able to pay, if there's money why didn't they pay. You guys are shouting 30k.
