Following the success of Sterling bank's last jab at other banks, she is back again with another upper cut satirical ad targeted at GTB.

How will Sterling bank win?
The AD will get banks' staff and customers talking, some defending their brands/employer, some enjoying and following the trend while some will be compelled to google Sterling bank out of annoyance or to know what sponsored the bank's recent gut. Another amazing angel to this strategy is how you start seeing ADs relating to the your recent google search. I hope Sterling bank already activated some affiliated ADs that would pop-up to maximize the effect of the recent social buzz.

Googling Sterling bank will expose the researcher to their products that may get his/her attention and make him/her enlist for her services.

Media buzz is a good business. Sterling bank sure understands it is a game of numbers which can be heavily influenced by being in the news and trending on social media.

Ad war or not, GTBank is by far one of the top 3 banks in Nigeria, let sterling Bank continue with their Ad war.

You are absolutely right but you do not get attention taking on a nobody. This is why it is a form of market penetration strategy. In the 21st century, penetration strategy is beyond pricing and promotion, it is also a number game that jumping on trends may also deliver. Beyond the ORNGE, did you also notice that Sterling Bank jumped on the STEW tagline? (it is game of number).

People who seek attention online do not target unknown people but celebrities with huge online followers, same applies here. It is a strategy that get results any time, any day.
