Hmm, although his work is more administrative than technical.

We may laugh at the man, but consider these factors.

1.The man is 68 years old. When he was a young man, what would become today's PC was still in the experimental stage. A computer back in the 1970's was a big machine which covered a whole room.Only specialists used it.

2.For those of you Nigerians laughing at Buhari and the man, people their age spent all their working life not needing to use a PC. By the time they were in senior management posts in their fifites, there were lots of young people who were using PC's...whom they could delegate tasks to.

3.Japan is a country that looks modern, yet is still old fashioned in many ways. For example...how many people here have heard of a fax machine ? Last time I heard of someone using one was in 2001. Japan still uses them today. All because the old people who run things there are used to them, and don't want change.

4.We can laugh at our 'lifeless' leadership, but let's be honest....MOST nigerians have never ever used a PC or computer in their lifetimes. The number goes up when you consider Nigerians over 45 years of age. Yes they should modernize...but the fact is, they got along well without PC's ....and they can delegate tasks....so why should they change.

Do you have a rebuttal to my posts, or you just want to have fun?

Anyway....FYI...I don't back PDP or APC.

From my basic knowledge of a computer, a simple Java phone is a computer....I can only agree with him if he says he has never used a mobile phone in his life.

Frim the analogy, you should have known that he is referring to a pc.

If he is still the minister then he’s doing something right.
I see nothing wrong here. His job is to supervise those familiar with computers and hacking tools.
It is only when he retires they can put a forty-something year old computer literate individual.
What sixty-something year old is computer literate anyway? I’m nearly forty and can’t use Twitter despite growing up around computers.

Is Buhari not a Certificateless person presiding over the affairs of 200 million people? Among them are Academicians, Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers, etc.

Sakurada is not at fault shaa. Abe appointed him without due diligence
How many certificate or degree did king Solomon has to make him best king in history in terms of knowledge and wealth?

As far as weknow...Buhari got his WAEC certificate. To state otherwise is to assume that the Nigerian Army was so corrupt in 1961 when it was still being run by a British officer that they were admitting people sans certificate for their officer courses.

And how can a certificateless guy graduate easily from the NMTC (now the NDA,) and get all sorts of post graduation qualificationa.

And anyway.....Atiku is an OND holder....which while better than WAEC is still 'inferior' to the same Academicians, Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers , etc.

And the thing is, many of these Acada people don't want to run and get their hands dirty in politcs. Instead...na armchair critics them they do.(people like GEJ and Yaradua are an exception)

And no, I don't support Buhari. Infact, I am tired of APC and PDP. I also don't like either of the economic polices they are proposing. And I don't like the tribalism rampant in both parties.

Very true

Do not be deceived by his apparent naivety. That guy has administrative, management and policy formulation skills beyond your imagination.

You think the Minister is required to debug lines of firewall code?

^^^^
Interesting point you make.

Although I wonder...wouldn't his policy formulation be greatly enhanced from the experience that comes with actually using the machines? Given his unfamiliarity with computers the man could be held hostage or easily misled by poor suggestions from his advisers.

For related reasons I think any political leader in this day and age who doesn't have a firm grounding in economics has the odds stacked against him. Nigeria's experience confirms this.

A novice in a particular field can easily make tremendous achievement because he will pay attention to every advise and suggestions in other to succeed
While someone who thinks he knows it all will likely reject many advise so as to enjoy the accolades alone

This guy should be deported back to his country (9ja). He will be well accepted here. Afterall, a lawyer is the minister of power and energy in 9ja.

His case it's just a piece of cake here.

But man, am really indifferent about most foreigners, but I still respect Japan a bit , mostly because how they still hold up to thier values & culture despite the western world infiltration. More importantly thier culture is freaking cool, samurais,Geishas, ninjas, honour above all. now that's awesome compared to 10th world country like Nigeria
