The first Lawyer in Ogoniland and second republic ex-lawmaker, Gbene Senator Dr.Cyrus Nunieh, has been laid to rest.

Suanu's Blog reports that His remains were buried at his Home town, Beeri in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State after a well attended funeral ceremony.

The renowned legal icon whose marriage to Miss Rosemary Ijeoma went viral in 2017 died in August 2018 after a brief illness.

The event temporarily reunited top politicians in Rivers State from both factions of the APC and some PDP chieftains.

It may interest you to note that the late lawmaker was the brain behind the movement for the creation of Bori State out of Rivers State during the constitutional conference of the Jonathan Administration.
