The Maiden edition of the Classic Games is set to kick off, this year, 2018, at the Molade Okoya Thomas hall from December 18th to 23rd.

The Games Director, Macaulay Maduwuba, opens up on a wide range of issues, challenges and promises of the Classic Games 2018, in an exclusive Interview with Dailysportng.com

Q: Tell us about the Classic Games 2018

The Classic games 2018 is a sports tournament which involves the use of the Brain, Mind, Skill and Precision, with Chess, Darts, Scrabble and Draught as Games of completion.

This is is the first edition organised by Macwrites, the Organising Company, a Media, Communications and Promotional enterprise.

It is an intellectually entertaining tournament which involves playing with the mind, bringing people together in one environment where they contest.

Q: What are the challenges of organizing such a tournament?

In Nigeria The Mind Games is not getting enough support, there have been different type of tournaments which have been organized but none have been widely acceptable.

What we want to do is to provide an aggregate market, an alternative window for companies to to sell their products, services and brand.

The Major challenge is convincing the corporate entities that the Classic Games 2018 provides a valuable ready market for them to put in resources for beneficial return on investment which may not be immediate cash returns bit surely increased market share and value; bring all parties - participants, audience, sponsors and partners and Organiser - together in other to achieve our aims objectively and collectively

Q: What are your expectations for the first edition?

We want to be able to satisfy the sponsors, participants and the Audience.

The participants want to know what's in it for them to win. The Sponsors want to know what's in it for them to gain: what visible value and market can they buy into. The audience want to be entertained and engaged. These leave the Organiser with no option but to work outside the box to achieve the different aims.

We want the Classic Games 2018 to project sports for the purpose of economic empowerment.

We also expect to have participants from all over the country.

It goes beyond just playing the games, it promises to be interesting, entertaining filled with suspense, shock and competition, because there will be corporate Presence.

Q: How do you think the Mind Games can improve?

The Mind Games are very good for Intellectual enlightenment, but it is lacking Community and Corporate support.
The people in charge need to start organising a convincing tournament in other to get the the support of the Corporate world and the Community by showing them that there's a market.
The Classic Games 2018 will create an avenue for the supporters to come and enjoy the game they love like football that will also help to attract the attention of the Corporate world.

Q: Do you have plans to provide side attraction?

The essence of the Classic Games 2018 is to entertaining the audience and spectators, intellectually. Give sponsors a creative interpretation of their investment. As this are brain and Mind Games which require due concentration, there will be slight but very meaningful, relatable and enjoyable entertaining and creative performances by the side. and audience.

Q: What are the publicity plans for the Classic Games 2018 ?

We have partnered with TV, Radio and Online mediums in other to project the Games to the Audience.
Rave TV, Hot FM and DailySportsng.com are our media partners.

We have been to Rave TV to talk about The Classic Games 2018 and we got positive feedback.

This will enable the Corporate world to know that if they support the. Classic games they will get a mention in the media.

Other TV and Radio Stations too have signified to cover the Classic Games before during and After.

Q: Tell us about the Prize Money

We have set a prize of 15,000 Dollars for the Tournament.

This is a package that a well meaning, impact driven, profit oriented sponsor can easily pick up, along with other statutory rights.

We will announce the individual prize money in due course.
