A teenage student punched a maths teacher in the face after he was told off for interrupting a lesson. Seemingly annoyed he had been chastised in front of his peers, the 13-year-old hung around in the corridor as lessons ended.

When maths teacher Guillermo Badilla walked out of his classroom he was pounced upon.
The boy can be seen in mobile phone footage running up to the teacher and forcefully hitting him in the head.

Mr Badilla stumbles into a wall as the aggressor moves away and the teacher shouts after him.
The incident took place at the Dario Salas school, in the city of Chillan, in the central Chilean region of Nuble and was recorded by an onlooker.
Local media report the student, in the eighth grade, was not taught by Mr Badilla.

He had interrupted the Maths teacher’s class by going into the classroom and telling all the students it was break time despite it not being so.
Felipe Rossler, the Head of the Education Department of Nuble, told local media: “He (the aggressor) is not even a student from his class, he broke into the class calling for students to take their break despite the fact it was not time for that.
“The teacher asked him to leave the room and the student did so but he waited outside until the break to punch him.”

Local media report that the school will take measures against the student.
Authorities said: “In 18 years of the school’s history, it is the first time a teacher has been the victim of a violent attack.
“After this incident, he was very emotionally effected and decided to report it to the police.
