Sen. Bala Na'Allah, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate on Monday said the country was working an outdated Nigeria Police law, which had been in presence since 1943.

Na'Allah said this at a discourse session with the National Assembly and Stakeholders on Police Reform and Police Bill sorted out by the Policy and Legal Advocacy Center (PLAC) in Abuja.

He said that was the reason he chosen to support the Police Reform Bill to make the police to be side by side with worldwide best practice.

He said that the bill had passed second perusing and was right now at the advisory group level and ideally, open hearing would be directed, at that point senate would think about the report inside the following 30 days.

"The Nigeria police drive is constantly critisised for not conveying on their obligation; as a gathering that guaranteed to leave Nigeria more anchored than it met it, we chose to start this change.

"We are not very alright with the circumstance where just the few get great security while the bigger populace is left at their own hazard.
