The Council For The Regulation Of Engineering In Nigeria Benue Chapter arrived the site of the collapsed social science faculty building at Benue State University on 19/11/2018

The officials were seen inspecting the collapsed part of the Faculty building taking photos and also writing notes. Metrovillazone couldn't get word from the officials on why the building collapsed less than 2 years after commissioning. We now await official statement from engineering regulatory body that regulates the practice of engineering in Nigeria.

The building, which was built with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in 2015, collapsed last Sunday morning.

Please keep quiet if you don't know anything about civil engineering. Since when did the price of cement and iron rods become the reason for building collapse?

That collapse is most likely due to a developer or contractor trying to economize resources to maximize profit while ignoring the design requirement and engineer's advice. Building contractors always want to prove they know more than engineers while they have no engineering background.

It may also be due to a faulty design by an inexperienced or quack civil engineer.

It's high time engineers took their place by being the contractors. These guys are just blood suckers.

Its more of people's greed than the cost of cement or rod. If they reduce the prices, doesn't stop the foremen or contractor still trying to maximize profit at the expense of the owner
