You Can Have Whatever You Want! Learn To POSITION Yourself! by modnd3(m): 4:26pm On Nov 21, 2018
....Few years back, Before I joined the Business-to-Business Department at JUMIA, I started off in the Sales Team.

My journey in the E-commerce and Importation Business world, started like this;

While still in school, I always opposed the motion which sates that you MUST know somebody before you get a job in Nigeria.

I refused my brain and mind to accept this as a fact, even though everybody (99% of the people) around me agreed to it

What did I do?

I started Educating and Learning the new world of Technology and the Profitable use of the Internet. (Environmental Technology was what I was studying at the time)

It didn't take long before I built my first website and ventured into other services I could provide back then. Simply because I chose to Learn this new technology.

I pushed and applied efforts in each area I needed to develop, and I got better with each passing day.

Boom! An opportunity Presents itself.

In 2012, E-commerce was Born in Nigeria.

JUMIA and KONGA came in big time, and there were all over the place (Internet)

I said to myself, why not go work for them and develop even much further? And another of my friends said IT'S IMPOSSIBLE! Who do you know there?

Well, without knowing nobody, I did go talk to JUMIA, and I talked about my experience with the use of the internet and the projects I've personally embarked on

I was immediately given a slot.

I started off in the sales team, and in just three (3) months, I was promoter to the Business-to-Business Department.

From there, it's been one E-commerce venture to the other, and now a full time Partner and Vendor to the Big E-commerce Platforms in Nigeria.

So, my advice to young people is; Dedicate yourself to Education and Learning (In any area you choose to go into) over Entertainment.

Make that decision today and tomorrow will be SUCCESSFUL.

We are all responsible for our own growth and development no matter what. Do not put all your hopes on the Government, Family or Friends. It starts with You!

You choose to have whatever you Want, by Positioning or Re-positioning yourself before time.

Cheers!
