Prince Tony Momoh, a former Minister of Information, on Thursday said former President Goodluck Jonathan was not aware of happenings around him when he presided over the affairs of the country.

Speaking in a chat with INDEPENDENT from the United Kingdom (UK), Momoh, one of the national leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) also faulted the claim by Jonathan in his book that corruption has worsened since Buhari’s government took over almost four years ago.

According to him, while Jonathan initiated a lot of laudable programmes, he couldn’t implement them because he lacked the political will to do so.

“As President, did he know what was happening around him when he was busy drinking till 3am and he will be signing what he doesn’t understand or didn’t even remember signing?”

“The fact is that Buhari’s records in fighting corruption is unprecedented in the annals of Nigeria’s politics and return to civil rule. Even the Treasury Single Account (TSA) that Jonathan started, he didn’t implement it. He didn’t have the political will to implement a lot of things”.

“There is hardly anything new Buhari started in the area of fighting corruption. EFCC was not Buhari’s baby. ICPC was not Buhari’s baby. TSA was not Buhari’s baby. Plugging loopholes is the act of exercising the political will to do so.

“Recovering money is exercise of political will. The fact is the money has always been there. But there is no political will on the part of Jonathan to back EFCC. That is what Buhari has been doing now with EFCC,” he said.

See a glorified mumu taking his mumuism to the next level. It's the faulty of docile Nigerians that fell for the APC lies & propaganda that failed to stone you guys after two years as you once requested.

I would bet a million naira that Buhari does not understand his campaign promises and cannot sit with a journalist and explain what next level he’s taking Nigerians to.

Jo should have quietly kept on with his retirement in silence.

His book has just given room to some unnecessary bashings from all and sundry including the inconsequentials.

They're all speaking for their own personal interests. They say what they want to say only when it suits them.

Look at the hippo talking.

Where is the N40 per liter fuel you promised? GEJ did not know what he was signing, it's the cow herder in Aso Rock that knows what he's signing.

Everything follows a plan in government to get all stakeholders involved and to mitigate any falling out.

*The BVN was introduced and fully implemented by GEJ.
*Fertilizer subsidy reforms was introduced and fully implemented under GEJ.
*The IPPIS and GIS was introduced by PDP governments and implementation continued under GEJ. The IPPIS implementation is still on-going as we speak.

So what is this nonsense about political will because Buhari hurriedly implemented TSA that hastened our descent into recession. Has the hurriedly implemented TSA stopped the corruption in NNPC, NEMA, the military and others too numerous to mention?

Apart from the fraudulent Nigeria Air, what has this government introduced, that Atiku will implement during his tenure. If you're empty, you're empty. No need spying to cover up your inefficiency.

I do not think Tony Momoh made this statement. If he did, then it is all over.
