Members of the newly recruited Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Zamfara have said they are ready to defend their community from bandits even if it costs them their lives.

Daily Trust reports that the vigilantes said they are prepared to face the challenge to their commitment despite risks involved.


“We are putting our lives on the line to protect our communities. We won’t relent in our bid to ward off hoodlums from invading our villages,” a newly recruited member said, Musa Kabir said.

“Every day, we are being hunted by the armed bandits and we have become their main targets. Whenever, they strike in a community they will first identify the vigilantes to kill. Sometimes they identify our houses before they even raid the communities.
