Excuse me, please don't let people curse you, i work from 9am to 12:30 mid night for 3 and half days in a week which amount to 7 days a week and when there is public holidays, we are not allowed to go on off only if it falls on your own off day, some other organization works 8am-5pm or even 4pm with weekend off. I'm going to ignore your first statement.
No matter how compulsory the fg makes the public holiday, some organizations will still not observe it. Your organization will not observe it. Company's that their service is needed for 24 hours will not observe it.
When you were employed, you were given the conditions of work.
The only thing that can be done is to give special allowances for public holidays.
As I said before, there are important things the Government needs to attend to. You can eat your heart out if you disagree.
