All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo state has stated its resolve to work for the victory of its senatorial candidate for Ondo north senatorial district, Ajayi Boroffice and its other candidates in the 2019 election.

The party made this known in its reaction to the recent defection of the Chairman of Governing Board of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, Tunji Abayomi to Action Alliance, AA to contest for the seat.
Abayomi had in a letter written to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu informed him of his decision to leave the APC to satisfy his ambition of contesting for the senate on the platform of AA.

He hinged his decision to leave the APC on the submission of the name of the incumbent senator, Boroffice to INEC as the candidate of the party, after he was granted an automatic ticket.
While speaking with AKURENEWS, Publicity Secretary of the party, Alex Kalejaye said Abayomi was free to go anywhere he decides to go.

“Dr Abayomi, a notable member of the party, he felt aggrieved and his argument was that he is so popular that he could win the senatorial seat of Ondo north on any platform. We only wish him well. He is going to test his popularity, we have no problem about that, we will always do what is needful for our own member to ensure victory for our party.
